Abbreviating metric units of measure
Basic rules for abbreviations
- Abbreviate most units of measure that accompany numbers and include a virgule construction
- Use the same abbreviation for both singular and plural forms
- Do not use periods with abbreviated unis of measure
- Include a space between the arabic numeral and the abbreviation
