Capitalizing hyphenated compounds
Only the elements of a hyphenated compound that are proper nouns or proper adjectives are capitalized.
We will see her again in mid-November.
The mid-March committee meeting has been canceled.

Exception: When the hyphenated compound is at the beginning of a sentence, follow the normal rules for capitalization.
Mid-November? is when the surgery schedule starts to fill up.

When a hyphenated compound occurs in a heading, title, subtitle or table, do not capitalize the second part of the hyphenated compound if either part is a hyphenated prefix or suffix, or if the compound is commonly read as a unit.

Some compount words represent words that are not commonly read as a unit and carry equal weight in the compound. In these cases, both parts should be capitalized when used in headings and titles, etc.
